He has a distinguished career built on leadership, service, and four decades of international trade. In 1982, he served in the First Army Headquarters Intelligence Office. After crossing the Pacific, he went on to serve as Vice President of the Korean Association of Toronto from 2013 to 2015, as a Director of the Overseas Korean Traders Association from 2016 to 2018, and as a member of the Presidential Advisory Committee for Democratic Achievement from 2016 to 2020.Since founding Cheil Industries in 1986, he has guided CIC Group's growth from specialty steel and industrial trading into a diverse family of businesses — bringing Korea's beloved Sahmyook soy milk to Canadian tables, introducing Korean skincare innovation through the group's K-beauty brands, and developing Health Canada-licensed natural health products, including CARNO LUX.Now, in 2026 — the 40th year of that voyage — he has declared a new beginning. Marking this year as the group's first year of new ventures, CIC Group is charting its next chapter: expanding its premium natural food and wellness portfolio, deepening its K-beauty presence across North America, and opening new frontiers in global trade. For him, four decades is not a destination, but a port of departure.Throughout his career, he has focused not only on generating profit as a business leader, but on fostering unity, driving change, and giving back to society.
